Scavland Guides

Verified Scavland survival, progression, quest, and Early Access guides — labelled as confirmed from official notes or wiki playtest TBD.

Scavland guides on this wiki are written for Early Access players who need clear evidence labels, not spoiler dumps of invented numbers. Scavland entered Steam Early Access on September 4, 2026. Public materials discussed here currently reference builds through Hotfix 0.8.8 (October 19, 2026) after Update 0.8.0 (October 17, 2026).

This hub explains which guide to read first, how we separate official notes from playtest TBD, and where patch history lives — without inventing reputation thresholds, loot tables, or “best starter” damage stats.

How this wiki labels guide facts

  1. Confirmed from official notes as of [patch / date] — Steam store text or NoShadow patch notes, linked in the article.
  2. Wiki playtest log — repeatable in-game checks with version badge, method, and caveats. Until a log exists, we say TBD.
  3. Editorial advice — our recommendations, clearly marked as interpretation.

We do not invent Job reward matrices, faction unlock ladders, or starting kits. Empty versioned tables beat fake precision — for players and for ad-review quality signals.

Cross-hub deep pages every guide reader should know: Ammo types and armor penetration, Weapon customization, Zalesye overview, How we verify data.

Suggested reading order

  1. Release date & Early Access — confirm launch context and EA length framing from official materials.
  2. Game modes — pick Explorer / Returner / Iron Man with eyes open (death and stash rules change everything).
  3. Beginner guide — loop mindset before chasing every bunker.
  4. Update history — skim 0.8.0 armor/ammo changes and 0.8.8 magazine ammo memory before loadout theory.
  5. Ammo & armor penetration — densest confirmed combat-rules page on the wiki after 0.8.0.
  6. Quests & reputation / factions overview — long-term access; keep thresholds in playtest tables.
  7. Sleep / stash / campfire — rest and storage loops before bunker pushes.
  8. Maps / mechanics hubs — where and how systems apply (bunkers, Life system, mutants).

Early Access reality check (editorial)

Patches move quickly. A guide without a version badge becomes misinformation. When NoShadow ships a hotfix:

  • Update the child guide that owns the rule first (ammo, modes, trading).
  • Add a dated line to update history.
  • Soften any sentence on this hub that pointed at the old “as of” date.

“Confirmed from official notes as of DATE” is a feature, not a failure. “Wiki playtest log: TBD” is better than inventing a number to look complete.

What “beginner” means on scav.land

The beginner guide is a risk-management loop, not a spoiler route:

  • Learn survival UI and a reliable return path.
  • Convert loot into repairs, ammo discipline, and Job progress.
  • Treat irradiated labels and bunker icons as reasons to plan retreats.
  • Cross-link weapons and mechanics pages instead of stuffing unverified stats into one mega-article.

Exact starting inventory, death penalty edge cases not covered in notes, and “best first gun” DPS lists remain TBD until measured.

Quests, Jobs, and reputation without fake thresholds

Official framing emphasizes quests, reputation, and multiple factions (on the order of 10 factions in store/FAQ framing used across the wiki). Until ranks are logged:

  • Name faction or Job givers only with a source or playtest note.
  • Put unlock thresholds in empty versioned tables.
  • When patch notes change rewards or vendor stock (examples already appear in the ammo economy section after 0.8.0), update trading and reputation guides together.

Deep page: Quests and reputation.
